Stage 2
Ascent to the Throne of Zeus

Mount Olympus

Today, you face the most demanding challenge of the entire Mythical Odyssey — a stage that will test not only your endurance, but your determination and spirit.

This second stage is a relentless 16 km climb, with a nearly 2,000-meter elevation gain, as you ascend into the heart of Mount Olympus. The terrain is steep but not technical or dangerous. It will be hard. It will feel endless. Your legs will burn, and your breath will shorten — but the reward is beyond words.

As you reach the Apostolidis Refuge at 2,700 meters, perched just below the summit ridge, you will be greeted by a panorama like no other: the Throne of Zeus rising dramatically above, and the highest peak of Greece, Mytikas (2,917 m), watching silently in the distance.

In that moment, the pain will fade, replaced by awe — at the scale of the landscape, the purity of the air, and the feeling of having run your way into a mythical realm.

You will spend the night at the refuge, sleeping beneath the stars and just below the home of the ancient gods. It is a once-in-a-lifetime experience — and undoubtedly, the highlight of this Mythical Odyssey.
