Echoes of Arcadia
Echoes of Arcadia was created to reveal one of the most authentic and captivating regions of Greece.
Not the Greece of crowded islands. Not the Greece of organised tours. But a land where mythology, history and nature come together in spectacular harmony.
Across six stages and 165 kilometres, runners will journey through the heart of the Peloponnese — from the mountains and ancient forests of Arcadia to the gorges, waterfalls and breathtaking coastline of Messenia.
Each stage reveals another extraordinary chapter:
- The Menalon Trail – eighty kilometres of magnificent forest trails, mountain streams and timeless stone-built villages through the heart of Arcadia.
- Ostrakina Summit – a demanding ascent through the fir forests of Mount Mainalo to one of the highest summits in the Peloponnese.
- Lousios Gorge – a dramatic passage beneath centuries-old monasteries clinging to towering limestone cliffs above the river.
- The Temple of Apollo Epicurius and River Neda – a journey from one of the finest surviving monuments of Classical Greece into the cool waters and hidden waterfalls of the magical Neda Gorge.
- Polylimnio, Old Navarino Castle and Voidokilia – an unforgettable finale through emerald pools, historic ruins and golden sand, ending in the turquoise waters of one of Greece’s most beautiful bays.
Designed with minimal transfers, the journey moves naturally from one destination to the next, allowing runners to experience traditional villages, local hospitality and the changing character of the Peloponnese along the way.
This is far more than a six-stage race. It is a journey through ancient landscapes, living traditions and some of the most beautiful trails in Greece.
