Terms of Participation

2. Participation at Your Own Risk

I acknowledge that I am voluntarily participating in a physically and mentally demanding multi-stage footrace across varying terrain in Greece. I understand that trail running involves inherent risks, including but not limited to: injury, dehydration, exhaustion, heat or altitude-related illness, accidents, encounters with animals, adverse weather, or unforeseen natural conditions. I accept full responsibility for my participation and assume all such risks.

3. Medical Fitness

• I confirm that I am in suitable physical condition to undertake this event.
• I will provide truthful and accurate information in the mandatory medical form required by Mythical Odyssey.
• I agree to inform Mythical Odyssey immediately of any change in my medical condition that may impact my participation.
• I accept that the race medical team and organisers may, at their absolute discretion, withdraw me from the event if they believe my health or safety is at risk, and that no refund shall be due in such circumstances.

4. Insurance

I understand and accept that it is my responsibility to obtain comprehensive personal travel and medical insurance that specifically covers:

• endurance sports (including trail/ultra-running),
• emergency medical treatment, evacuation (including helicopter if required), and repatriation,
• trip cancellation or curtailment.

I agree to the following:

• I will provide a copy of my valid insurance policy at race check-in for Mythical Odyssey to retain on file.
• I will carry with me during the event a copy of the policy summary or insurance card showing the policy number and 24-hour emergency contact number.
• I accept that failure to provide proof of such insurance at check-in will result in refusal to start the race, without refund.
• I acknowledge that Mythical Odyssey, its staff, and partners will not be liable for any costs, losses, or damages arising from my failure to obtain or provide valid insurance.

5. Personal Responsibility & Conduct

I agree to:

• respect fellow participants, staff, volunteers, and local communities,
• comply with all instructions from the race organisation and safety teams,
• carry and use the mandatory equipment as outlined in the official kit list,
• avoid behaviour that could endanger myself, others, or the environment.

Failure to comply may result in time penalties, disqualification, or removal from the race without refund.

6. Changes to the Program

I understand that Mythical Odyssey reserves the right to modify the route, stage distances, schedule, accommodation, or logistics in the interest of safety or due to circumstances beyond their control (e.g., extreme weather, natural disasters, strikes, political unrest, pandemics, governmental restrictions). No refunds shall be due for changes reasonably required under such circumstances.

7. Companions

Where a runner registers a companion, that companion must complete the official Companion Registration Form and agree to the Companion Terms of Participation and Privacy Policy. The runner confirms that any companion they invite is aware of, and agrees to, these terms. The Companion Package cannot exist independently of a registered runner’s participation, and withdrawal of the runner will automatically result in the cancellation of the linked companion’s place, subject to the applicable refund policy.

8. Registration, Payments & Cancellation

• A binding contract is formed only when Mythical Odyssey confirms my registration and receives the deposit.
• Deposits are non-refundable.
• The balance of the entry fee must be paid by the deadline stated by Mythical Odyssey. Failure to pay may result in loss of place without refund.
• The official Cancellation & Refund Policy published on the Mythical Odyssey website applies in all cases.
• Any additional travel or accommodation I arrange outside the official race package is entirely at my own risk and expense.

9. Media & Image Rights

I grant Mythical Odyssey full permission to use photographs, film, or recordings of me during the event for promotional, commercial, or media purposes, in perpetuity and worldwide, without compensation. (If you wish to opt out, you must notify us in writing before the event.)

10. Liability Waiver & Indemnity

I hereby waive, release, and discharge Mythical Odyssey, its directors, staff, medical personnel, volunteers, sponsors, and partners from any and all liability, claims, or causes of action for personal injury, illness, death, property loss, or damage arising from my participation in this event, except where caused by their gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

I further agree to indemnify and hold harmless Mythical Odyssey from any third-party claims arising from my actions during the event.

11. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms of Participation are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England & Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
