There is simply no place on Earth like Meteora.
This UNESCO World Heritage site rises like a dream from the Thessalian plain — a surreal forest of towering stone pillars crowned by ancient monasteries, defying gravity and logic. It is one of the greatest geological wonders in the world, and one of the most sacred sites in Greek Orthodoxy.
And yet, most tourists only scratch the surface. They come by bus, visit a couple of monasteries, and leave. Our runners will run through the untouched trails that circle these stone giants, where solitude reigns and the only sound is your breath and the wind among the cliffs.
Before the race begins, you will also visit the most iconic monasteries and dive deeper into the story of Meteora, starting with a visit to the Digital Projection Centre to understand the area’s unique geology and spiritual history.
This stage is not only visually breathtaking — it sets the tone for the whole Odyssey: a bridge between the ancient and the eternal.
